fellowship PROGRAM

“Empowering Africa’s Innovation Leaders for a Sustainable Future”

The ATII Fellows Program is a Pan-African initiative designed to empower a new generation of innovation leaders, researchers, and professionals driving sustainable development through technology, applied research, and industry collaboration.

It integrates academia, industry, and development partners to transform universities into innovation ecosystems, hubs that convert research into real-world impact aligned with the UN SDGs and African Union’s Agenda 2063.

Through Junior Fellows (Undergraduates) and Senior Fellows (Professionals & Researchers) tracks, the program strengthens Africa’s research capacity, industrial competitiveness, and workforce development.

Fellowship Program

Program Structure

  • Junior Fellows: Undergraduate innovators conducting applied, community-relevant research.
  • Senior Fellows: Researchers and professionals driving industrial transformation and policy innovation.
  • Innovation Labs: Co-creation spaces for experimentation and prototyping.
  • Mentorship: One-on-one guidance from top industry experts and academics.
  • Grants & Commercialization: Research funding and incubation for viable technologies.
  • Internships & Workforce Training: Real-world exposure and professional growth opportunities.

The ATII Fellows Program is Africa’s blueprint for technological sovereignty and sustainable progress.
It transforms universities into launchpads of innovation, turning African research into engines of industry and community renewal.

Each Fellow represents more than an academic; they are architects of resilience, designing technologies that solve African challenges while influencing global sustainability systems.
The program’s long-term reflection is clear: Africa’s development will not be imported; it will be innovated from within.
