In the spirit of celebrating the International Day of the African Child 2024, African Technology and Institution Institute (ATII), in partnership with Lumina Education and Empowerment Foundation, launched it Junior Scholar Program on Friday, 28th June, 2024. We sponsored 10 pupils of Bridge Academy pupils with scholarships and back-to-school kits. This initiative aims to help them stay in school and enhance their learning experience.
At ATII, we are passionate about empowering the next generation of leaders who will change the world. Focusing on one of our thematic areas, Education, this passion has led to the birth of our Junior Scholars Program, an offshoot of our #Innovation, Leaders, Fellowship & Scholars Program.
Through this program, we aim to empower and cater to the welfare of students aged 3-12 from underprivileged and low-income communities by partnering with organizations to provide scholarships, STEM-based back-to-school kits, and other materials, to spark their desire for education and contributes to their communities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related fields.
In her congratulatory speech to the scholarship beneficiaries, Professor Rose-Margaret Ekeng-Itua, Founder of ATII, encouraged them to pursue their dreams, strive for excellence, and aim high. She shared that her experience as an engineer has given her the privilege and honor of impacting the world positively while having fun. She hopes that the students will be inspired to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
We are excited about this partnership with Lumina Education and Empowerment Foundation and Bridge International Academy and look forward to more opportunities for future collaborations and impact.
